Hector Yuste met with the press before training this morning and admitted that he feels it is positive that the majority of the first team roster for this season is already training and getting to know one another, “it is always true that some new player or players will come, but the bulk of the squad is already here and this is good for playing and getting to know one another.” Relatedly, the player confirmed that the key to having a good season “is starting well. Earning points puts fans in the stands and energizes the team.”
Yuste did admit that expectations are high this year, “we all take responsibility and have to be together, the Club, the roster, the fans, the staff, the media, we have to unite to achieve our goals.” And, when prompted by the media, Yuste refused to reveal these objectives, “I want to think day to day, and game to game. We all dream certain things, but it is silly to talk about the day when that becomes a reality. So why should we talk about promotion? We all know what we want and say that all the time. We all want it but we don´t have to think about that in June.”
The player elaborated about the new roster additions, “professionals have come with the utmost experience, they know how to compete and play important games, together with young players who are excited to show their skills, they are hungry. I believe that this is a good combination.”
Finally, with respect to his personal situation, Yuste reassured that he is just as comfortable as a center back as he is as a center midfielder, “I am happy to play and I will do so wherever the coach says. For me, continuing at the Club is a treasure because the expectations are very high. My objective is to help take points and achieve the objectives.”
