Andy Kohlberg analyses the season

Our president spoke with club media to analyse the season on and off pitch

Our president Andy Kohlberg spoke to club media to discuss the season gone, progress and plans for the future. Find out what Mr.Kohlberg had to say below:

On the season: “It has been an exciting season with the Copa del Rey. Reaching the final was an incredible achievement for the club and a source of pride for the island. We maintained our goal of staying in LaLiga. So overall, with both, it's been an exciting time for the club and a good year.”

On the Copa del Rey final: “It was fantastic for the island and for the players. Our players had never been to a final like that before and the effort of the club to have 20,000 people from the island to Seville was incredible and everyone appreciated it. I think everyone, even though we lost the final, felt very proud and satisfied with the players' effort. The club has risen to another level in terms of our position and brand in Spanish football.”

On staying up: “Four years in LaLiga is not an easy thing to do. As you know, it has only been the second time, and we want to keep growing and do better every year. It's not easy, the road is going to be hard, but we are committed to investing in the club and the players and for the growth to continue as we have done in the last eight years.”

On growth in season ticket holders and supporters: “We went from 7,000 subscribers to now having reached 20,000. Now we've gone from 400,000 followers on social media to almost eight million now. So it's really been a fantastic improvement.”

On the renovated Estadi Mallorca Son Moix: “January 13, when we inaugurated the stadium, was a great day, but in terms of our philosophy, we really want to turn it into a centre for the whole island. We are going to have a sports bar, a gym and a children's area. We're going to have events for corporations, weddings and music concerts. We really want it to be a stadium that is used every day of the year instead of just for 19 home games.”

On Javier Aguirre: “We are extremely proud of what Javier has accomplished here. He has been a great coach for us and is an excellent person. I have enjoyed getting to know him and I respect him enormously for what he has done for the club and all the fans.”

On the future: “Our main objective is to continue growing, to stay in LaLiga and be in the top ten and compete for Europe on occasions. We want to strengthen the squad and continue to grow both on and off the pitch and improve the fans' experience at the stadium.”
