Rubén García’s second-half goal is the difference on the afternoon
Rubén García’s strike in the 55th minute was the difference as we suffered a 1-0 defeat at CA Osasuna.
Jagoba Arrasate returned to his former club for the first time and named a starting XI which included former CA Osasuna player Johan Mojica.
In the opposite dugout was our former manager Vicente Moreno while our ex-striker Ante Budimir led the line for the hosts.
Chances were few and far between during the opening exchanges and it was not until the 18th minute that Aimar tested Dominik Grief from distance.
Our shot stopper had to be at his best in the 32nd minute to make a fine acrobatic save before the hosts then hit the post in the same move.
Aimar had another opportunity just before the break from a free-kick, but Grief got down well to deny him.
Takuma Asano had a late chance in injury time when he ghosted in at the far post and headed over the bar from close distance.
Rubén García broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when the midfielder capitalised on a loose ball following a series of rebounds to poke home from close range.
Neither side were able to create much in the final third beyond a series of half chances, and despite us having the majority of possession, we succumbed to a slender defeat.
