We are delighted to announce another step forward in our digital and multimedia development with an agreement to partner with Telefónica and LG.
Our agreement with Telefónica will run for three seasons and makes the telecommunications company a technology partner, as we work together to accelerate the club's progression across innovation, digitisation, security, audiovisual and fan experiences.
We have also made LG our official technology partner for the next two seasons which will involve the installation of video scoreboards in the north and south end of the stadium, in addition to the introduction of air conditioning and broadcast monitors.
The larger of the two scoreboards will be 22m wide and 7m high, making it one of the largest in Spain, while second will measure in at an impressive 13m wide and 7m high.
These 10.41mm pitch LED video scoreboards reach a brightness of 7000 nits for a perfect display from any point of the stadium and at any time of the day, while their super-high refresh rate of 3840Hz reduces eye fatigue by eliminating flicker and is perfect for viewing content even through TV cameras.
LG, a technological and market leader in image, will also install televisions and monitors throughout the stadium to complete the experience of all RCD Mallorca fans.
In total, there will be more than 200 screens ranging from 43" to 98", distributed both in the various seating areas and in the fan and sponsor boxes.
All of them will feature advanced image technology that offers crisp, vivid and accurate colour expression.
Some of these screens are touch screens and will allow direct interaction with match attendees, while digital signage will be specially designed for outdoor use permit content to be enjoyed in any lighting conditions.
Alfonso Díaz, Business CEO of RCD Mallorca, said: "For RCD Mallorca, this agreement means partnering with two major technology companies, each a leader in its sector and with an important international reach.
