Jagoba Arrasate: “Changing the mood is important, we have to react”

The boss looked ahead to our clash with Sevilla

Jagoba Arrasate spoke to the media ahead of our hosting of Sevilla on Tuesday evening, Find out what the boss had to say ahead of the fixture:

On the team mentally and physically: It's what we have, we would have liked to have had one more day of rest like Sevilla had, but against Leganés it will be the other way around. On the mental side, it's relatively easy to get ready for Sevilla; on the physical side, it's more difficult. Forty-eight hours haven't passed yet, that's why we trained today in the afternoon: to give people more time to recover. It is not easy to repeat efforts in certain positions every three days. I understand that there will be changes. We will decide in the afternoon. The important thing is to change the mood, we have to react.

On if Sevilla approached him: To begin with, the decision to leave Osasuna was very difficult. Later there were offers from other teams, but when Mallorca showed interest I did not think of any other team.

On how he sees the side: A week ago everything was positive and now everything seems negative, we have to maintain a balance. We have to maintain a balance. We should not get over confident because of a bad game or dramatise because of a bad one. I expected more from the team and from myself on Saturday. We weren't as good as we can be, but that's it, we have to learn from that and try to give the same version as on the first day.

On delivery: We have to adapt to different contexts. We played with the same eleven in both matches and they were two totally different games. We had more clarity on the ball on the first day than on the second. Each match has its own context. When you have problems you have to look for solutions and the other day we didn't find them. When that happens, the coach is partly to blame.

On the match he expects: In both matches, Sevilla have been the protagonists with the ball, have generated a lot, have generated chances and have not finished well. We have to play a good game defensively and know how to create chances. They have a very clear idea and if they have a point it is probably because they have not been effective in front of goal. They were penalised in some defensive aspects. I expect a game where they want to have the ball, generate superiority, attract you to find those up front. Defensively, we have to play a very good game and at the same time we have to attack them, which we also have strengths, where they are not so comfortable.

On Muriqi: We have to surround him, either with another striker, with the wingers who can occupy the central lane or with the inside players who have more penetration. That will give us more options to score.

On Sevilla: I liked their two games. You watch them and they have a thousand variants in attack, they have tactical flexibility. It's not easy as they do it well. We want to be good both in attack and defence.

On the goalkeeper: The one who starts is not definitive. For me, Greif has played two very good games, but Leo will also have his chance, we trust him too.
