We can confirm that Jaume Costa will leave the club after three years as a free agent when his contract expires this summer.
Our defender featured 95 times for RCD Mallorca, featuring 87 times in LaLiga and playing eight games in the Copa del Rey.
Costa played important roles in our LaLiga survival across the three seasons he was at the club and helped us reach the Copa del Rey final this campaign.
On behalf of everyone at the club, we want to thank Jaume for his professionalism and wish him the best of luck for the future.
Jaume Costa's statement:
“I leave happy, satisfied and proud of myself and of the club we have formed.
“I am happy because I came for two years and in the end it has been three. We have managed to create stability that when we came here I think was the first of our objectives. I am happy because I have also achieved emotional stability here.
"I thought that when I left Villarreal I would never be important in another club and here I have been. I am happy and grateful to all those people who trusted me at the time and who have continued to trust me so that I could be one of the captains of the team this year and to those coaches who have trusted me on the pitch.
“If something is to stay with me, it would be the great family we have formed. It's been three years in which players have come and gone, and the human level and quality has always been more important than the individual.

“For me, Mallorca has been a very pleasant surprise because I knew very little about it. I did not expect to find such a great club at the level of infrastructure, at the collective level and in terms of people. A club as humane as this one has treated me great from the first day.
“I am very grateful to the whole club. To all the fans, who from the very beginning have supported me, encouraged me, and motivated me in good and bad times. As the coach said, we are all just passing through, except for the club and the fans. May that continue, may they continue to be excited and may I hope to see Mallorca achieve things in the future.”
