The second stage of the Vuelta a Mallorca for Masters visits the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix

The cycling event started and finished at our stadium

The XXVII Challenge Vuelta a Mallorca for Masters visted the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix last Wednesday, October 9.

This was the second of the four stages of the competition, which is part of the International Masters Cycling Week. The race, which began in Alaró a day earlier, will continue in Pollença and will end this Sunday with the European Masters Cycling Cup.

The Palma stage stood out for its demanding route, which included complicated ramps in the Pòrtol area, adding an extra challenge to the cyclists. “It was a well contested stage, with difficulties, but very rewarding. As a Mallorquinista, competing near the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, such an important place for the island, was very special,” commented one of the participants moments before the race.

RCD Mallorca, as part of its commitment to the Balearic community, was present at the start and finish of this stage, promoting not only soccer, but also cycling and other sporting activities on the island. “Mallorca is one of the most important estates of Balearic society and its involvement in this type of event demonstrates its closeness to the community. It is only right that it gets involved in initiatives that promote sport for all,” added Manolo Hernández, general manager of Unisport Consulting.

Many participants highlighted the excitement of passing by a stadium they have visited as fans and now seeing it from the perspective of a cycling race: “Arriving next to the pitch and winning here is very rewarding,” said the winner of the stage.
