Luis García Plaza: ‘We’re very happy, we have to continue with humility and prudence’

The boss reflected on our 3-1 win over CD Castellón in his post-match press conference

Luis García Plaza spoke to journalists in his post-match press conference after our 3-1 victory over CD Castellón at the Visit Mallorca Estadi. Abdón Prats’ brace and Salva Sevilla’s fine strike proved to be the difference on the night, but find out what the boss had to say about the performance, the league table and our impressive form:

On the performance...

"We had an amazing 15 minutes. We played football in a spectacular way, but then it was hard for us. We could have scored more goals, but so could they. CD Castellón was the team that reached us the most. It was a game which if we didn't get things at 3-0, we were going to suffer.”

On the league...

"I am very happy. We have 38 points. I don't know how to rate it. This is going to be very long, very hard and very demanding. Now we have a very complicated game against an important rival.”

On form...

"The defeat will come - I said that a long time ago. Hopefully it will be a long time coming. We are a team of workers. Everything we are winning, we do with a lot of effort. The day defeat comes, we'll take it better than many. We have three games left before the end of the year and we will prepare for them with a lot of desire."

"The players are having an excellent season. Putting up with Espanyol, Almería, Leganés – it’s incredible. Those who have more merit are us. We’re very happy and the demand is incredible. Everyone is proud of the players. We must continue with humility and prudence.”

On the squad...

"All the players have my confidence. We have good players and I trust them all. I believe that everyone can contribute and that when players play they have that confidence.

"The teams that are at the top are rotating. Febas as the attacking part of midfield was incredible. I knew that in that position he could give us a lot and from Abdon I can say that he is on a roll and I hope that it lasts.”

On Jordi Mboula...

"Mboula is a boy who is going to go even further. Everyone has it, but he's a kid we've connected with. He's a player who comes in almost every time and he's going to give us things. We haven't seen his best, but he's closer to the player we all want. I hope that he will give us even more things.”
