Marc Domènech on his first-team debut: ‘The truth is that I couldn’t believe it’

Our forward reflected on his step up to the senior side and debut

Marc Domènech spoke to internal media after he made his official senior debut for the club against Sevilla.

Domènech has also been called up for the first time to the Spain U-19 national team and will train in Las Rozas from 3rd to 8th September.

Here are Marc Domènech's words on his official debut with RCD Mallorca.

On getting the call-up: ‘The truth is that I didn't believe it. When Arrasate shouted at Abdón, I didn't even look, I didn't imagine he would shout at me. And he shouted at me twice, because the first time I didn't hear him and I was super happy’.

On what Arrasate told him: ‘He told me to go out and do what I know how to do, to run and defend, and when I have the ball, to attack, to do what I know how to do’.

On who he thought about: ‘I remember all my family, who have always helped me. The coach too, who has put his trust in me to play. And of my team-mates and the coaching staff too’.

On messages he has received: ‘Yes, I've had my mobile phone on all day, I still have to answer people. And yes, the truth is that yes [I've had many messages]’.

On his journey: ‘Three months ago I was scoring two goals against Sabadell and keeping up my team with San Francisco. And now I'm making my debut in LaLiga in Son Moix’.

On his debut: ‘No, I imagined it from a long distance. It was my dream for at least three years from now, but I never imagined making my debut this year’.

On his objective: ‘To try to play as much as possible and if not, to play a lot with my team and score a lot of goals’.
