Sergi Darder, Pablo Maffeo, Antonio Sánchez and Jagoba Arrasate reflected on our 5-1 defeat to FC Barcelona. Find out what the players and the boss had to say below:
Sergi Darder:
On the result: The problem is the opponent we had in front of us. Surely against another team we would have got something positive. You give this team a half inch and they score five goals. We knew we couldn't allow any mistakes and we made a few. We have to keep the positive part, which was the first half.
On physical strain: I don't think so, because until 1-2 the team was fine, I didn't notice any fatigue. But in the last few minutes, when fatigue set in and we switched off and they didn't forgive us for it.
On the next match: We mustn't relax, we have a lot of points but we have to do a lot more. We can't stop with the first half of the season we've had. We have to finish the second half of the first and second half of the season well. There are a lot of points left and Friday's points are very important. If we want to be in the top half we have to win.
Pablo Maffeo:
On the result: If you see the result without watching the game you say it was a bath but I don't think it was like that. From the second goal onwards, everything became a bit difficult for us and then we conceded goals in a very short space of time. I think we have to take the team's first half, which was very good. We even had chances to go in at half-time winning, but this is football and we have to keep going.
On form: In the end you concede five goals but we have to look at the overall picture. We have 24 points, we're in a very good position, we have to keep competing in every game. We did that today, especially in the first half. Now it's time to keep going.
On his thoughts: I felt good even though I knew they were very good and I had a difficult job to do. In the end it's a question of the team, I'm happy for my attendance which is the first of many and I hope I can continue at this level.
Jagoba Arrasate:
On the game: It's a tough result, surely that penalty hurt us a lot. From then on the game opened up and they were superior with space and we have to accept that and pick ourselves up because on Friday we have another game.
On the team: In the long run these things give you more than they take away. Maybe we were too brave, we left too much space. In the first half we equalised but the 1-2 changed the game.
On state of the team: The last half hour was especially noticeable. Between this, the mismatches and the spaces, Barça were far superior.
On heading to Celta Vigo: The best thing that can happen to us is to play in three days. We don't have much time but we have to pick ourselves up because it's a very important game.
Antonio Sánchez:
On the match: The result hurts us because of the way the match went. In many moments we were in the game. It has to hurt us but we mustn't be alarmist.
On first half: We have to take the positives. We will analyse the whole game and look at the good things as well as the bad.
On Friday: We have the chance to get the bad taste out of our mouths quickly but, well, defeats also have to hurt so we don't want them to happen again. Tomorrow we will recover and think about the next game.
On fans: I think it's the same as it has been all season. The fans are cheering us on and helping us a lot. I think the team feels it and is giving it back on the pitch.
