Franco Russo says he couldn’t be happier having signed a new contract with the club which will see him remain at the Visit Mallorca Estadi until 2024.
Having made 17 appearances so far this season following an impressive loan spell at SD Ponferradina last year, the centre back believes he and his team-mates are ready for what awaits them in the fight for promotion – starting with CD Lugo this Sunday.
"Both parties are very happy to have reached a renewal agreement,” he told journalists via a remote press conference. "The team is very confident in what it is doing. It is normal that at this moment of the season there are a few bumps but the overall picture is very good. The team is committed and at 100%.
"CD Lugo is a complicated opponent, who fights and always goes forward. It will be a tough match, but we have to keep our identity as a team. Luis García Plaza's praise for all the central defenders of the team was very nice.
“The Segunda Divisón is going to be very tight until the last few games. All the remaining matches are difficult and complicated. It's going to be hard until the final three matches.”
