Luis García Plaza: “Ten games remain and we are confident”
The boss gave his thoughts on our 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid
Luis García Plaza was on post-match media duties after we suffered a 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid. A second half Karim Benzema brace and strike from Vinicius was the difference on a frustrating evening. Find out what the boss had to say below:
On the game…
"We made a lot of mistakes. When in the first half, against Madrid, you have options and you don't take advantage of them, we have to minimise the mistakes.
"I insist that in the first half we were able to counteract them. It's a game in which it seems like they didn’t do anything and yet they scored three. The game was the way we wanted it to be.
"I don't see the team in a bad way, but we made some bad mistakes. Baba was having a great game. We have to learn and minimise the mistakes. In terms of effort we did very well, as well as we showed ourselves."
On the team...
"Football is a state of mind. We are not having that success right now. We have five defeats in a row, things are not going well. But I also think it's unfair.
“I have every confidence in these guys. I give them love and support. There are ten games left. There are six teams left and now it's time to go for it.
"I'm sure we'll have another bad game. The key is that when we play well we get points - that's what we're missing. Those of us at the bottom are finding it hard to win a lot. We have to play well, and when we do, we have to win.”
