Abdon Prats’ first-half penalty saw us register our first three points of the season at home as we beat Real Sociedad 1-0 at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.
Jagoba Arrasate opted for Cyle Larin and Abdon Prats in the absence of Vedat Muriqi while Robert Navarro was handed his debut.
Leo Roman was called into action early in the second minute when he had to get down low to block an effort from Sergio Gomez before shortly after pawing away a Martín Zubimendi chipped attempt.
We were inches away from taking the lead in the 26th minute when Antonio Raíllo flicked Dani Rodríguez’s corner towards goal with Larin just unable to make contact and poke home from close range.
We were awarded a penalty in the 34th minute following a VAR review of a handful as Abdon Prats made no mistake from the spot to give us the lead at the break.
We started the stronger side too and thought we had a second one Larin headed home from close range, although the offside flag went up to deny him his first goal of the season.
Dani Rodriguez and substitute Muriqi would have half-chances later on, but neither threatened to extend our advantage.
The visitors came close late on with a late effort from distance which flew off target as we held onto our lead to register our first three points at home of the season.
