Valjent, Morlanes, Valery and Arrasate evaluate the defeat to Villarreal

Find out what the boss and players had to say about the defeat

Martin Valjent, Manu Morlanes, Valery and Jagoba Arrasate assessed the 2-1 defeat against Villarreal. Find out what the trio and the boss had to say below:

Valjent:

On the game: Well this is football too. We almost got a point and given the circumstances it would have been good. Even so, the objective was to win the game and it wasn't to be. On Tuesday we have another game here in front of our home fans and we have to recover.

On fighting for three points: Yes, when we corrected a couple of things in the first half, in the second half we came out very well and were able to equalise and create chances. It's a shame but we have to learn from our mistakes and move forward.

On Tuesday: We have to take what we can from this game to improve and for our process so that on Tuesday we can compete and win. People like us want it very much.

Morlanes:

On the defeat: At times we were good. I think we gave away the point. It didn't look like the score was going to move in the last few minutes and by playing too fast we gave away the point. Now we have to try to think about the next game on Tuesday.

On the the first half: In the first half we were very unsettled and they were passing very quickly. They found us very easily between the lines. We tightened up in the second half, they were more uncomfortable and from then on the team improved and we managed to equalise, but it's not worth much when in the 90th minute they score the second and you leave without a point.

On the sending off: The sending off gave the impression that they weren't uncomfortable with the draw either. The game was calm and it was time to be a bit more responsible and know that a point in the situation we were in today was quite positive. There's nothing left to do but think about Tuesday, we have another game at home and we'll try to get the win.

Valery:

On the defeat: We have done merits to take more in the match and it is a pity to end this way with the work that the team had done in front of the fans. We are sad but we have another chance on Tuesday. We will try to win the three points and forget what happened today.

On his debut: Well, it's always a happiness to debut with a new club like Mallorca, a great club and a great entity. I'm happy to have minutes and help the team but you think about the result and how it happened and you leave with a bad taste in your mouth.

On Tuesday: Yes, we'll change our mindset, we'll learn from the last few minutes of the game, which is where we need to improve. We have to approach Tuesday in the best way possible, we can win, we'll put up a fight and we'll be able to take the three points.

Jagoba Arrasate:

On the game: With time you value the good things you've done but today the disappointment is great. We had it in our hands and when you make such an effort to be rewarded I think it's a step forward and it was the opposite with that action at the end.

On playing with 10 players: There is little to blame the team for. In the second half we saw a brave Mallorca, the result was the goal, we wanted to win, we were down to 10 men. We had to defend but we also had chances to try and win the game and the pity is that last play where the decision making wasn't the best.

On the second half: We were more courageous in pressing high and that the two midfielders didn't jump so much on their midfielders because they found the back of us very easily. When you're trailing at the end you have to shake things up, take more risks and even then we were good and better than in the first half.

In the next game being in three days: There is not much time for regrets. On Tuesday we play again with our people and we have to quickly refocus.
